Lauren learned to swim before she learned to walk. She doesn't use the crawl or breast stroke. Like most things, Lauren has her own style. She typically swims across the pool to the deep end, holds on to the side of the pool with one arm and splashes the water with her other arm.
She spends lots of time doing this "stimming behavior" unless she is encouraged to swim to the other side.
For years, we tried to modify this behavior with little success.
Overtime, neighbors have become accustomed to it, but it can still be embarrassing when she splashes a visitor.
At last, we have the perfect explanation for her behavior!
She is practicing social distancing. If you get splashed, sorry but you are too close!
Who could object to her being so socially responsible?
Keeping it real!
